The Hoops for Hope Planning Committee is reaching out to the congregation for the below help needed.

Opportunity #1: Raffle Donation
Seeking donation items to be placed in our 5 baskets which will be raffled off during the Hoops for Hope Event. Donations are requested to be turned in by November 3rd!

Opportunity #2: Volunteering

Volunteer Positions Needed:
Scorekeepers
Setup crew for event
Breakdown crew for event
Lunch crew - to pick up food or to help with making (TBD)
First aid kit and someone to be able to manage it

Information about Event
On November 16th, 2019 the Portland Hope Chapter will be hosting an endurance basketball event called “Hoops for HOPE” in collaboration with the HOPE worldwide organization and Warner Pacific University. The tournament will last 6 straight hours! While lots of basketball will be occurring, this event is more importantly focused on supporting children and families in the Philippines. This year the 20 players participating will be raising $500 each, all of which will go directly to helping children access education and families develop sustainable lives in Daan Bantayan, Cebu, Philippines.

Active projects with HOPE Worldwide that your donations will support
Assisting school-aged children with necessary supplies.
Providing micro-loans to families to develop small local businesses.
Running a pre-school program/community center to provide early education and social support.
Rebuilding homes destroyed in natural disasters.
Your support can make a HUGE difference!!!
$300 supports a college student for a year.
$500 helps a family start a sustainable small business.
$1000 will build a single family home.
