Welcome Beatriz
by : January 30th, 2012
A warm welcome to our new sister Beatriz Peralta who was baptized into Christ on January 11, 2012.  She met Jerusha Canning at the community swimming pool while her granddaughter and Jerusha’s daughter were playing together.  They started to talk, and Jerusha invited her to church.  She came and studied the Bible and came to the decision to devote her life to God and make Jesus her Lord.

A Very Special Sunday
by steve j : January 24th, 2012
This Sunday we're very fortunate to have Scott and Lynne Green coming down to be with us for our service and the potluck that follows. Scott is the evangelist for the Seattle church and along with Lynne, have been like family to Lisa and me for over 30 years. Scott and Lynne lived in Hong Kong and began churches that continue to grow and thrive throughout that part of the world. Recently Scott finished a very intensive master degree program in family counseling and now, in addition to all of his service as a minister, he professionally counsels and heals families in crisis. Most of you already know Scott and Lynne; for those of you who don't, I promise, you're in for a treat.
Originally Mike and Anne-Brigitte Taliaferro were going to be our guests for the weekend, but Mike's mother, Jency, is in hospice under their care. Jency is a dear friend and sister who Lisa and I have had the honor to know. Her husband, Archer, and she have served alongside their son and daughter-in-law... More »

Like all kids, I loved the movies when I was growing up and Elvis was one of my favorites. Following dreams is a theme we can probably all relate to, or as the comedian, the late Mitch Hedberg said, "I'm tired of following my dreams. I just want them to tell me where they're going so I can catch up with them later." With Mitch in mind, I offer you this slightly altered suggestion: Let's let this be the year we Catch Some Dreams.

In Genesis 12 you read about God calling Abraham. Nothing, other than lineage stuff in chapter 11, is mentioned of Abraham before this calling. Hebrews 11:8 adds this, that when he received this call from God that he "...obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going." All the promises God made him came... More »

Personal

If this seems a little too up close and personal, please bear with me and pretend we're closer to Valentine's Day than we really are. I want to write a love note to my wife.
Well, really not to her, but about her.
