I was just informed I’m a baby boomer.  I had been under the impression that I missed this significant generation by being born in 1961. Someone recently educated me and told me that the cut off was 1964.  So I now belong to a group of 73 million people, or is it 73 million people plus one?  Being an honorary member of this generation means there are some experiences I can relate to that perhaps the X or Y generation would consider (gulp) old or antiquated.  One experience involves family rides in the country. Sometimes you receive an email, a letter, or a phone call, and you have no idea that your life will never be the same. That was the case about a year ago. A woman popped up on Facebook whom I had not seen or heard from in a long time. About 12 years ago, she and her family were part of a church that I was leading and I had gotten to know her son. He was about 12 or 13 at the time when he started to get into some trouble at school. His Mom asked me if I would be willing to spend time with him and steer him in a new direction.

Brothers and sisters, I want to update you on the Christians Conference.  So far, registrations are beginning to come in.  Originally, the early bird deadline was to end on June 1.  I am going to extend it to June 15.  Can you all please announce this to your churches this Sunday?  All of the information is available on our website or Seattle's.  After June 15 it will go up $10/person.

Please forgive me if the website and bulletins are even more irregularly attended to than usual. This is a busy month for the congregation and for my family. I'm on my way to Jessica Arthur's wedding and have a little traveling to take care of this month while we adjust to a new challenge facing my family in regards to Lisa's health.
